USA, — The home and mobile internet provider Xfinity sent out a notice to customers on Monday evening saying the company was hit with a data breach back in October.
The notice says information like usernames, passwords and partial social security numbers were hacked.
It happened after one of its software providers, Citrix, experienced a "vulnerability."
There is no word on exactly how many Xfinity customers have been affected.
Xfinity users should change their passwords the next time they log in. The company also recommends enrolling in two-factor authentication to help protect account information.
Xfinity says they are taking the matter seriously and remain committed to keeping customers' information safe.
The data security incident is still under investigation.
