Lola & Chuckie | 16 To The Rescue

We are hoping our viewers can come to the rescue once again. Lola and Chuckie were returned to Mommy and Me Rescue last month.

MOUNT CARMEL, Pa. — Lola and Chuckie are energetic two-year-old chihuahua mixes who might look familiar. The bonded pair was featured on 16 to the Rescue in July.

"They were adopted out in September. Unfortunately, they were returned a few days later.  We brought them back into the program with open arms, of course, because we love them, and we wanted them to be somewhere safe," said Megan Pensyl, SCI Coal Township FIDOS Program Coordinator.

Megan Pensyl coordinates the FIDOS Program at SCI Coal Township, where inmates train dogs and prepare them for adoption. Lola and Chuckie are currently in the program.

"I can't do nothing with Lola without Chuckie there," said Limas, the program's inmate handler.

Limas has been a handler for the FIDOS program for about a year and a half. He is in charge of training Lola and Chuckie.

"They're definitely good dogs. They play 24/7. After they use the bathroom, they want to chase each other while you try to clean up behind them.  Everybody loves them," said Limas.

Lola and Chuckie came to Mommy and Me Rescue in Mount Carmel as strays back in May. Rescue workers say they are better together, and they would like them to be adopted as a pair. They are good lap dogs, and they like to run and play.

"What would the ideal home for them be? Someone older that just likes to hang out at the house and go for little walks, or it could be someone who is active. They like to run around.  A fenced-in yard would be good for both of them," said Pensyl.

The FIDOS program is in its 11th year at SCI Coal Township and has adopted more than 800 dogs. If you want to meet Lola and Chuckie, you can find their adoption information here.
