SCRANTON, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet a younger dog currently being fostered in the Scranton area.
"He would be very loyal, and he just makes you smile all day," said Brian Donahue with Friends with Paws Pet Rescue in Lackawanna County.
It's hard not to smile when you see that face and those big, beautiful eyes. Ghost is probably about 1 or 2 years old, a west highland/mix, living with a foster family in the Scranton area.
"He'll be by your side, in your house, all day. He just loves to be around people. He's a very fun dog and a very active dog," Donahue said.
Ghost was found abandoned by a property manager in August. He was adopted briefly, but that did not work out because of some guarding issues.
However, Ghost has been living with a foster family through Friends with Paws Pet Rescue in Scranton for about two months, and his foster owner, Brian Donahue, has already seen some major progress. They've been working on tricks and training, and Donahue says they've become best friends.
"He would be very good with a young couple, maybe teenage kids, definitely another dog. He loves to play with other dogs, probably medium to small dogs are his favorite. Definitely energetic people, because he loves to go for walks, that's his favorite thing," Donahue said.
Rescue workers say Ghost would do best in a home with someone who is home more often than not, maybe someone who works from home. Also, anyone who can spend a lot of time with him outside since this is his favorite place to be. If you adopt Ghost and give him his second chance at a forever home, he will be your best friend.
"He sleeps right next to you on the bed; when you're on the couch, he has to be next to you. He just looks at you from the time you wake up in the morning. He just wants to go for walks," said Donahue. "He just loves being with you."
