BEAR CREEK TOWNSHIP, PA — Rescue workers say Fun Guy is probably one of the most social cats to ever live at the SPCA of Luzerne County. Since he keeps getting overlooked, they thought this name and a feature on 16 To The Rescue might do the trick.
"He had a chronic condition going on where he was sneezing and a lot of upper respiratory congestion, so he does have a chronic health condition. We give him supplements to keep him healthy. It doesn't bother him in the least," said Nancy Derwin, SPCA of Luzerne County.
Fun Guy can see just fine, but rescue workers think his eye condition is why he keeps getting overlooked.
"He seems to get passed by. I think people get worried; he has been on different medications," Derwin said.
Fun Guy is probably about 3 years old. He has been living at the shelter in Luzerne County since July.
Fun Guy always wants to be around his people and gives literal hugs when he's being held.
"Anyone who has time to give him all the attention he needs because he loves attention, so where he is not going to be left a lot alone," said Derwin.
Rescue workers don't know how he'd be with other pets in the home, but this social guy is always saying hello to the other cats in the cat room when he's let out of his cage. They think Fun Guy would be happy anywhere since he's always happy here.
"If you want your cat to be around you and not hiding, he's got all the personality to be around a great family," Derwin said.
