DYBERRY, Pa. — In this week's 16 To The Rescue, we meet a 3-year-old dog who has not had any interest since she was rescued last year.
"I have to say it: Everything is better with Butter," said Linda Gambone from Dessin Animal Shelter.
Everything is better with Butter, and this Butter (the dog) is ready to prove it.
"She's now our longest-time resident. She's been with us for six months and hasn't had any interest or applications, and we can't figure out why. She's very polite. She sits in her kennel quietly, doesn't bark," Gambone said.
Butter was found roaming the street in Honesdale about six months ago when she was rescued and brought to Dessin Animal Shelter. She is probably about 3 years old and is a bull/terrier mix.
"We have no idea what her past is. She's very healthy. She has some skills: She sits, she'll come to you if you call her. Someone worked with her and took good care of her, so we have no idea what happened," Gambone said.
Rescue workers at Dessin say Butter is very adoptable. She does not mind other dogs when she is on a walk, but she does not get along great with other female dogs, so rescue workers would like to see her be the only pet in the home.
"I think when she sees a squirrel, she's going to run after it, so be careful because she's pretty strong. Otherwise, she's a great walker on the leash, and she's also wonderful with people. She's a confident dog. She loves to meet people. She's very polite, no jumping or mouthing, which is really nice," Gambone explained.
Butter would be happy in any home, especially an active one, but maybe not with really little kids because she is so strong.
"Oh, she's so much fun. She's such a fun dog. She loves playing with her tennis balls and playing fetch. I take her out almost every day. We go for long walks. She's a very engaging dog when she plays. She's very affectionate and friendly," Gambone said.
Rescue workers believe she will make everything in your life better. If you would like to meet Butter, you can find her adoption information by clicking here.
