Shrimp Cargot by Basil Wood Fired Kitchen and Lounge

A Delicious Alernative To Escargot

MUNCY, Pa. — The talented husband and wife team Greg Stine and Brooke Bishop are the owners of Basil Wood Fired Kitchen and Lounge.  They offer an amazing menu featuring cuisine prepared in their wood fired oven.  In addition, they carefully create an array of small plates and delicious entrees. They believe in using seasonal local produce.  The couple are very proud of their selection of craft cocktails and desserts made in house. 

When Home and Backyard visited, Executive Sous Chef Tyler Wood prepared us their signature Shrimp Cargot, Basil Wood Fired's fun take on traditional Escargot. Chef Wood prepared the shrimp in garlic, butter, herbs, Havarti, and accompanied it with a warm baguette.

Owner Greg Stine showed us how he marinated and prepared their prime rib utilizing the wood fired oven.

Brooke and Greg returned to Central Pennsylvania and opened Basis Wood Fired Kitchen and Lounge after spending nine years in the historic tourist destination and culinary hot spot, Charleston, SC.
