MIFFLINBURG, Pa. — If you are feeling crafty and want to create a Father's Day gift dad will surely "dig," here's a perfect idea. We visited Keith of Inspired Designs by Keith Phelps and he showed us how to make a planter out of a shovel.
He used a long spade head shovel, chicken wire, zip ties, moss and succulents to create this unique planter.
The chicken wire was placed across the shovel head pointed side up half way across to form a pocket and secured by zip ties. The moss was then placed in the pocket to hold the soil in place. Then he added soil and succulent plants. You could lean the shovel against a wall, place it in the ground with handle side in the dirt or hang it up on a wall outdoors.
