MIFFLINBURG, Pa. — You have the perfect turkey dinner planned; right down to the dessert and wine! To make the day extra special for your guests, here's a welcoming idea that adds elegance even before your friends and family step inside your home. Inspired Designs by Keith Phelps showed Home and Backyard how to make a beautiful, bountiful window box planter that can be placed right on your front porch, window or in an entrance way. It is a great inviting project to show hospitality the minute your Thanksgiving dinner guests arrive. This planter is created with all natural elements.
If you don't have a window box, you can use any planter/container for this project. After filling the container with soil, Keith added added plant material that could withstand the cold weather such as ornamental cabbage, broom corn, mini holly, berries and gourds. Keith even added a cornucopia made from grape vine.
This planter can be utilized for the Christmas season too. By replacing the pumpkins with small pine trees, adding white birch branches and twinkle lights!
