Small business creates shirts to help bring runaway pig 'Kevin Bacon' home

A portion of the proceeds from the shirts will go towards the cost of building a new home for Kevin Bacon with more room for him to roam.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Editor's note: The above video is from Oct. 17.

A Gettysburg-based small business is bringing home the bacon with its new merch--and hoping it'll bring home Kevin Bacon, too.

The pig has been on the run for nearly a week after escaping from his new home with the Rumbaughs, who took him in from a family who decided he had gotten too large to feed.

Despite a Facebook group dedicated to Kevin's safe return, a village of people searching for him and supplies donated from the community, the pig has refused to give up his freedom. Chelsea Rumbaugh says he usually comes back to his old pen in the mornings to eat, but volunteers have not managed to corral the 200-pound porker before he slips away again.

Crossroads Creations co-owner Katie Grimm is doing what she can to help by creating a #GettysburgKevin shirt. A portion of the proceeds from each shirt sale will go towards building a new home for Kevin Bacon with more room for him to roam in hopes that he won't try to adventure out again, Grimm said on Facebook. The money raised will also help with the costs of feeding Mr. Bacon.

The shirts are available in sizes from small to 5XL and cost $22-24 depending on the size. Anyone interested in the Kevin Bacon merch can fill out an online order form to get a shirt. Sales will close on Nov. 2, Grimm said.

The Rumbaughs are also accepting donations of supplies that will be used to help bring Kevin home.
