The Rotary Club of Stroudsburgs has organized an event today that's aimed at using fly fishing to help wounded veterans heal from their experiences during wartime. Today's event coincides with a national nonprofit known as "Project Healing Waters." According to its website, the organization is "dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings."
In our area, several local outings have been organized over the next few weeks including today's by the Rotary Club of Stroudsburgs. Today's will take place this afternoon from 10:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the Stroudsburg area.
Newswatch 16's Ryan Leckey took a look at the project helping heal in the Stroudsburg Area.

More in Monroe County:
In Monroe County, volunteers are also organizing a "Project Healing Waters" program in the Kunkletown area. This one is brand new. Organizers are also looking for venues willing to host their events. Kunkletown holds its programs the last Wednesday of the month, currently at Valor Clinic Foundation’s Pauls House (the old hotel Jonas). The pond there is very small, which limits the amount of people who can fish at once. To help with the fly fishing event or join the Kunkletown program, please contact John at 570-242-0615 for further dates and locations. Or, send an email to Jrock1@ptd.net. Valor Clinic can be reached at this link!
