A program that's all about pedal power kicks off today in Lackawanna County. "Bike Scranton" is now underway through November. It's a free bike share program that's organized by Lackawanna Heritage Valley.
Here's how it works: Anyone 18 or older can borrow a bike at several share locations in Scranton. You just have to provide a valid driver's license or state ID. For a list of the share locations where you can pick up a bike and tour the Electric City, click here for a list!
Bike Scranton will also be set up tonight (Friday, 4/1) on Courthouse Square on the corner of Spruce Street and North Washington Avenue from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. It ties into First Friday Scranton. WNEP-TV is a proud media sponsor of this event aimed at celebrating the arts and getting people into Scranton.
