Stories of war for history's sake — On The Pennsylvania Road

A World War II veteran from our area is getting a special honor from Congress and is still sharing his vivid memories of the war.

HAWLEY, Pa. — The United States Congress has awarded a World War II veteran from Wayne County its highest honor of appreciation — a Congressional Gold Medal.

The tribute for Joseph Drake and fellow Army Rangers is for their role in some of the war's fiercest battles. He still has vivid memories and shared them with Jon Meyer in this week's trip On The Pennsylvania Road.
