Recalling the Knox Mine Disaster with Mike Stevens | Back Down The Pennsylvania Road

The waters of the Susquehanna River poured into the coal mines in Luzerne County 65 years ago.

LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Monday marks the 65th anniversary of the Knox Mine disaster. The Susquehanna River flooded the mines, bringing an end to most coal mining in the Wyoming Valley.
