There’s nothing like waking up with Newswatch 16 This Morning, and Mindi Ramsey couldn’t imagine a better place to be first thing in the morning.
“I love working early in the morning with my quirky co-workers. Jon and Joe and the rest of the crew are so much fun; I can’t imagine a better place to be…(except maybe relaxing on a tropical island beach far from civilization.)”
Mindi didn’t have much choice in picking a career; broadcasting is in her blood. Mindi’s dad was the Operations Manager at the NBC affiliate in Davenport, Iowa and her mom taught “TV Tech” while she was in high school. Mindi started as a camera operator at KWQC while still in high school, and then went on to study broadcast journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After graduating she went back to KWQC as a reporter/anchor. Then she spent several years bouncing her way up the broadcast ladder from anchoring at WABI in Bangor, Maine to WGME in Portland, Maine to WVIT in Hartford, CT. While reporting and anchoring for NBC in Hartford, Mindi also worked as a fill-in anchor at MSNBC.
Mindi loves taking advantage of the great outdoors in NEPA with her husband, Michael, daughters, Ava and Macey, and their dog, Moby. Mindi enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling and cuddling up with a good book.
