SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A groom is charged with sexually assaulting a member of his wedding party in Monroe County.
Daniel Carney, 28, of Stroudsburg, is accused of molesting a bridesmaid at Shawnee Inn in August.
According to investigators, the bridesmaid was drinking heavily during an outing on the Delaware River. When the group went back to the inn, police say Carney pulled her into a locker room and that Carney’s future wife and another bridesmaid walked in during the attack.
Carney is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, and simple assault.
