Lake-Lehman Furloughs Teachers

LEHMAN TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Five teachers have been furloughed from a school district in Luzerne County.

The Lake-Lehman School District announced the decision at its school board meeting Monday night.

Eight teacher's aides were also furloughed.

Officials in the Lake-Lehman School District say declining enrollment is to blame.

If enrollment is declining and Lehman needs to downsize, then why are they raising our taxes? Work within your budget to address the needs that you have with fewer students, and cut administration if need be.
