YouTuber Captures Semitrailer Speeding by Cars Before Deadly Crash, Fire in Colorado

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Video appears to show a semitrailer speeding down the shoulder of eastbound Interstate 70 in Colorado before a massive crash and fire Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred near the Denver West exit in Lakewood. At least one person was killed. Several were injured.

The Lakewood Police Department said the crash began when a semitrailer traveling at a high rate of speed on the eastbound side of the highway collided with other vehicles, starting a chain reaction and fire.

An estimated 12 passenger vehicles and three semitrailers were involved in the crash.

The video, from Burger Planet on YouTube, appears to show the speeding semi passing stopped vehicles. The camera is then turned to show a large smoke plume rising from where I-70 goes under Denver West Colorado Mills Parkway.

The accident was still under investigation Thursday evening.

This is a developing story.

Waiting for you Jimbrony to sign in under my Moniker as you usually do.
You’ve been slacking this past week.

BTW I highly doubt that the truck on the shoulder was not trying to do a motorcycle move in stopped traffic.

Call me anything you want but late for dinner. Nice cover story, by the way. Post whatever you want then blame it on someone else. How can two people have the same screen name? Ooh, I’m a hacker… I’m sure it was some kind of mechanical failure, that completely disabled his braking systems and air horn. I’m going to LMAO when the report comes out and proves you wrong. Again.

Seems like your hero on 18 wheels was driving for a company with multiple violations, including deficiencies with braking systems. And also problems with drivers that couldn’t speak, write, or read – English. He said he knew the brakes were bad on his truck. Oh My My… Eh, only a couple of innocent people died. Acceptable collateral in your eyes, right Al? Got to get that freight though.

The driver of the truck has been identified as 23 years old Rogel Lazaro Aguilera of Texas. He has been arrested with multiple vehicular homicide charges. Authorities initially believe drugs or alcohol were not involved and also believe it was not intentional. They will examine the truck to see if it had any mechanical deficiencies.
