KINGSTON, Pa. --The window at Main Bike World in Kingston is boarded up, smashed around 10 p.m. Tuesday by a brick-throwing burglar who took off riding a stolen BMX bike, according to police.

"I can't believe someone would actually do that, there' s no reason for it. It just surprises me that someone would do that in such a populated area," said Josh Johnston of Kingston.

Kingston police say a teenager who was in the bike shop earlier in the day looks like the one who broke in and stole the bike. He was last seen wearing an orange hoodie and riding away from the scene of the crime.

At nearby Sweet Treat restaurant, diners talked about the burglary. The bike shop is right at what's known as Kingston corners, a very busy intersection with plenty of surveillance cameras.

"Kingston corners is a hub of Kingston, there’s always cars there, there's always people there and to go and do that, break into a building like that, got to be something going on,” said Michael Liuzzi of Kingston.

"It's a shame, you know? Who knows what they're doing anymore," said William Sincavage of Swoyersville.

"It's very disheartening to hear, there's cameras on the corner of the building, across the street and on the traffic lights. I can't imagine who would want to break into anything these days because there's such a chance of getting caught,” said Scott Schwabe of Kingston.

Police in Kingston are reviewing surveillance video from at least three cameras as part of the investigation.
