KNOEBELS AMUSEMENT RESORT -- Knoebels Amusement Resort in Northumberland County reopened Friday morning after rain and flash flooding forced the park to close for about three days earlier this week.

Park spokesperson Stacy Ososkie said most of the rides and food stands were open for park-goers Friday morning.

Heavy rain led to flash flooding in the park earlier this week.

Park workers dismantled some rides and attractions as the water was rising and take all that equipment to safety.

On Thursday as the water receded, workers began to clean the park and reassemble the rides.

Angela Keck and her family have been camping at Knoebels since last Saturday and have only been able to use the park briefly.

"We're going to get them their all-day passes. We weren't able to do the bargain night on Wednesday. There's one tonight. We decided to do the all day today because they weren't able to do it all week," Keck said.

"We were so scared. When we watched it, it was so devastating seeing this. We are so happy we were able to come," Jennifer Knorr said.

Roaring Creek roared out of its banks Wednesday, but 48 hours later, things were much different.

Many guests tell Newswatch 16 they wouldn't even know there was any flood damage.

"It's like it never happened. They're fabulous. The people here are amazing," said Knorr.

Employees at Knoebels Amusement Resort tell Newswatch 16 this is the most prepared they've ever been for a flood. They started taking down rides on Monday so when the creek rose, they were ready.

While most of the park is back open, the Crystal Pool needs to be drained and cleaned. The pool will most likely open next week.
