Therapy Dog makes 1,000 Visit to Assisted Living Facility

NORTH MANHEIM TOWNSHIP -- A volunteer at an assisted living facility in Schuylkill County reached an impressive milestone on Friday.

Buffy the therapy dog made her 1,000 visit to Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill near Pottsville.

Buffy has been visiting the facility for the past 6 years.

The staff and residents celebrated with a party and of cake for Buffy and her owner.

"She's a delightful sweatheart with a charming personality. She's very playful. Everyone loves her tricks. She's a pure delight," said Gail Lorady, Buffy's owner.

"Everybody loves her and the things that she does is amazing. Some of the tricks, I've never seen before, they're amazing!" commented resident John Lands.

Buffy's 1000th visit isn't her last to this assisted living facility near Pottsville.
