LYCOMING COUNTY -- The Lycoming County District Attorney is passing an investigation into Williamsport's mayor on to the State Attorney General.

The DA issued a statement saying that his office found reimbursements to Mayor Gabe Campana that quote: "may be illegitimate" and warrant further criminal investigation.

The District Attorney launched his investigation after a request from the city council and controller about expense reimbursements.

According to the District Attorney,  because of his professional relationship with the mayor, it's best for the State Attorney General to take the case.
