SCRANTON -- Preparations are already underway as Republican nominee Donald Trump is expected to speak at Lackawanna College's Student Union on Monday.

Whether it's Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Mike Pence, or even Vice President Joe Biden, northeast Pennsylvania has been an epicenter for presidential politics over the past few months.

"Normally, the Democrats would count on this," said Lynette Villano, a Trump supporter. Villano stood outside the Wyoming Valley Mall along with the Donald Trump trucks, collecting car honks as a sign of support.  "The (Democrats) would be so sure of the 20 electoral votes. But this time, I don't think so. And that's why they keep sending people here."

Pennsylvania has backed the Democratic presidential candidate every time since 1992.

"People use conventional wisdom; you can't do that with Donald Trump," added Villano. "They've been wrong the whole time. I really think (Donald Trump) not only is going to carry Pennsylvania, but I think he's going to be our next president."

In Scranton, Massachusetts representative Joe Kennedy stumped for Hillary Clinton, to make sure Pennsylvania stays blue. He's the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy.

"It's been a thrill for me obviously to be bouncing around Pennsylvania," said Kennedy.  "Especially in Scranton given the connection my family has with Scranton over the years, in particularly with president Kennedy's campaign. Scranton and Pennsylvania delivered the race to him."

Election Day is Tuesday.
