Tunkhannock Rotary Harvest & Wine Festival
Tunkhannock Rotary Club sponsors the Harvest & Wine Festival on Saturday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Lazy Brook Park near the junction of Routes 6 & 29. The Festival features PA wineries for wine tasting & purchase, great food from the harvest, live music, vendors with locally produced and handcrafted items. It’s advance ticket sales only available at Gay’s True Value, Community Bank, Antonio’s Pizza, & Nimble Hill Winery. Advance sales tickets are $25 per person, and it includes a Commemorative Wine Glass. The event also features a Rotary Lounge with a buffet (1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.) with a Commemorative Wine Glass and 120 seats available for $75 per person. Taylor Fire Department #1 Semi-Annual Chicken Barbecue
In Lackawanna County, Taylor Fire Department #1 sponsors the Semi-Annual Chicken Barbecue on Saturday, Oct. 8 from noon – 5 p.m. at the fire hall on Union Street. The meal features 1/2 chicken, homemade baked beans, potato salad, beverage & dessert. Tickets are available at he door. Ticket price for the meal is $9 per person.
