SCRANTON -- Before the storms rolled in Saturday afternoon, people came out to enjoy Lebanese food and heritage while giving back.

St. Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church held its 15th annual Lebanese Food Festival here on Saint Frances Cabrini Avenue in Scranton.

All the money raised goes toward the church's upkeep.

The festival also included a book sale and games for kids.

The festival continues Sunday.

One of the things I love about summer is all the parish picnics. St. Mary’s Slavic Festival is next weekend. Halupki, pierogi, kiebasi and potato pancakes. Downtown at Linden and Mifflin Avenues.
