JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP --  Children at a vacation bible school in Lackawanna County are getting a lesson in giving.

The children are collecting non-perishable food for the Light of Christ Church's food pantry in Mount Cobb.

The collection is being taken in honor of the bible school's director Corey Washine who is receiving treatment for brain cancer.

Her sons Carter and Colin Washine said their mother would have been proud of the wok they were doing.

The public can also drop off canned or non-perishable food at the church along Marshwood Road in Mount Cobb.
