MUNCY TOWNSHIP -- The Lycoming Mall has been sold for about $26 million. The new owners are already looking to make some changes.

Some people come to the Lycoming Mall to shop, while others like Dianne Pontious take advantage of the open space.

"I guess you could consider me a mall walker," said Dianne Pontious.

She passes by plenty of store fronts during her walks.

"As I was walking, I started counting the stores that were closed and I was up to 19 when you and I met," said Pontious.

Right now, 13 empty storefronts are available to rent.

There could be more shoppers soon. Kohan Retail Investment recently bought the mall for about $26 million. The investment group from New York wants to add new stores and events, something the group is already doing at its 17 other malls located all over the country.

"They are all saying things are good and once you get through this crazy transition period things will straighten out and hopefully be good for everybody involved," said Deanna Miller.

There are several empty store fronts at the Lycoming Mall because businesses have either moved out or moved to a different location. That doesn't mean people are not still shopping here. Just ask the folks here at Maurices.

"Just because we sold the mall, we're still here and we're still crazy. We're busy,” said Jessica Thomas.

So busy manager Jessica Thomas couldn't stand still for an interview.

Pontious hopes the new owners will work out. As for her, "I'll keep walking,” she said.
