SCRANTON — The Sears store and Sears Auto Center at the Viewmont Mall in Scranton are closing, according to company officials.
A Sears spokesperson said the company is closing some of its stores to reduce expenses.
A liquidation sale is scheduled to begin on April 22.
The store in the Viewmont Mall will be closed for good by mid-July.
Officials said 86 employees in the store and auto center can apply for open positions at other Sears or Kmart stores.
