YATESVILLE -- An employee in the Pittston Area School District is being "disciplined."
That's the word from the district solicitor, who says that unnamed person is in trouble after school officials got certain information late Monday afternoon.
Solicitor Sam Falcone says there is an "ongoing district investigation" and school officials are dedicated to ensuring student safety at all times. He wouldn't reveal any other details.
This comes just after news that five Wilkes-Barre Area teachers at GAR High School are suspended with pay, being investigated for violations of the district's drug and alcohol policy. Published reports say the teachers may have been drinking before or at a school dance. The superintendent says the allegations are not criminal.
Back in Pittston Area, the investigation may turn criminal. The district attorney says she can't comment on the situation at this time.
