From blurry vision to head and neck pain, if you're experiencing some of these symptoms it could be a result of digital eye strain. Area optometrists, including ones in the Geisinger Ophthalmology Department, say they're seeing more and more patients suffering from this condition.
Causes of digital eye strain according to Geisinger doctors include:
- High energy blue light from screens
- Focusing on objects in close proximity (phone, computers)
- Different lighting levels (screens)
- Failure to blink while concentrating

- Blurry vision
- Headache
- Neck/should/back pain
- Disrupted sleep patterns
