Bank Robbed in the Poconos

BARRETT TOWNSHIP -- A man held up a bank in the Poconos Friday evening.

The robber walked into the ESSA Bank and Trust on Route 390 in Mountainhome just before 5:30 p.m. Investigators said he approached a teller and demanded money. He got some cash and ran off.

Officers describe the robber as a black man in his 20s, about 5 foot 8 inches tall, with a mustache and goatee.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police are investigating the bank robbery in Monroe County.
