HAZLE TOWNSHIP -- Homeless veterans were on the minds of people at a campsite near Hazleton.
Organizers from "Voices 4 the Fallen" decided to spend the weekend camping out along Route 309 in a tent made out of blue tarps.
The goal is to draw attention to the hardships faced by homeless veterans.
Event Organizer Cyndee Hunsicker said, "We just wanted to raise awareness of the people out there that, yes we may have done this for two nights, and yes it was very cold last night, but there are people who have been living like that for years."
When Newswatch 16 stopped by, there was a steady stream of people dropping off food, pillows, and other items for homeless veterans.
Donations are still being accepted at the VFW post in McAdoo.
