KIDDER TOWNSHIP -- A church in Carbon County held a balloon launch Sunday in honor of Pope Francis' historic visit to the United States.
The congregation of St. Peter the Fisherman Church in Lake Harmony released 200 yellow and white balloons late Sunday morning.
Church members say the pope's visit to the US is one to be remembered.
"He's an inspiration to everyone, all Christians and even non-Christians. I think this will bring everyone together throughout the world," said Carol Hosbach of Albrightsville.
After the balloon release, the congregation in Carbon County took pictures with a life-sized cardboard cutout of Pope Francis.
