PHILADELPHIA -- In the spirit of the pope's visit, a priest in Lackawanna County created a replica of the Vatican, built entirely out of Legos.

About 500,000 Lego pieces were used to complete the model which is now on display at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

Fr. Bob Simon of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Moscow made the miniature Vatican. It took him more than ten months to build.

Fr. Simon said he was inspired by a Lego exhibit he saw in Virginia.

"As long as I can remember, I loved Legos and I also wanted to be a priest, so it was a natural thing to build churches," Fr. Simon said.

The Lego Vatican will be on display until February 15. The institute will also be hosting exhibits on Lego art and Vatican art and artifacts.
