SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT -- For the first time in 25 years, a team from Pennsylvania has made it to the national championships at the Little League World Series

And even though they're not playing on this day, the team from York County is creating a lot of excitement in South Williamsport.

The boys from Red Land Little League are still undefeated at the Little League World Series in South Williamsport. Their manager says they hope to become the first team from Pennsylvania to win the series since 1960.

After a big win against Texas to stay undefeated at the Little League World Series, it was a day of relaxation for the boys from York County. They posed for pictures and signed autographs for a few minutes but other than that, their manager Tom Peifer says they slept in and had a fun day that did not involve baseball.

The team from the Harrisburg area has a large amount of fans that come to South Williamsport by the dozens.

There was a buzz about the team before they got to the series and now they are proving themselves on the field.

"It's amazing to me how they block out 35,000 and at least play the game. With all the hype around them, they still stay focused," said manager Tom Peifer.

Mid-Atlantic, or Red Land as they're known back home, will play for the national title on Saturday. The last time a team from Pennsylvania made it that far was 1990. According to Little League, the last time a team from Pennsylvania won was in 1960.

"It's crazy to think and we're happy to represent the northeast and Mid-Atlantic and hopefully we can get it done on Saturday," Peifer said.

The fans say they're just as excited as the players.

Jennifer Goodman's son plays for a team from Toms River, New Jersey. That team lost to Red Land on the way to the World Series.

"We have to support the Mid-Atlantic, we have to be here for them," said Goodman.

"They're from really close and it's cool to see them play."

One of the most popular items in the gift shop at the Little League World Series, and one of the toughest items to come by, are the team t-shirts for Mid-Atlantic.

"It's sometimes difficult because we order months and months in advance, but we try to reorder and react as soon as we run out," said Duston Solomon, director of retail.

The retail manager says more Mid-Atlantic shirts will be in stock by Saturday. The West and Southwest teams play each other Thursday to determine who Mid-Atlantic faces on Saturday in the national final.
