OREFIELD — A deal was struck to put a popular soda back on the shelves.

David Jaindl announced Tuesday that Jaindl Companies would be buying the A-Treat Soda name, trademark and flavor formulas.

Jaindl wants to keep most of the production of the soda in the Lehigh Valley, stating that they entered a co-packing deal with Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Lehigh Valley.

Production will begin in Allentown in the upcoming weeks. The soda should pop back on the shelves once again by early Fall.

In January, A-Treat Soda closed its doors after nearly 100 years of business, sending many people in Schuylkill County to the stores to buy up the last of their favorite soda.

Paul Eifler, an Allentown business man, hoped to buy A-Treat Soda in April, but the deal with the soda company went flat.
