MAHONING TOWNSHIP -- Members of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey team played some games Tuesday with pediatric patients at Janet Weis Children's Hospital near Danville.
"I mean some guys already have the natural swing so in a couple of years they could be better than us," Matia Marcantuoni said.
The children posed for pictures with the players and of course the team's mascot, Tux.
Keeping with the theme of hockey, the kids even got to make their own hockey pucks, AKA chocolate cookies.
After Tux played hockey, and even tried to eat the Newswatch 16 microphone, he visited one of his biggest fans: Elijah Sabo of Scranton.
Elijah has stage four Neuroblastoma, which is a form of childhood cancer. He is on his way home, but stayed to meet his buddy Tux.
"Do you like Tux?"
"Yes!"
"Is he your favorite?"
"Yeah," Elijah said.
Elijah got a special visit from the Penguins players, too, but says his favorite part of the day was seeing Tux.
"He loves him. Whenever we go to hockey games he watches Tux the whole time. He doesn't watch the hockey players. He just waits for him to come over so this is really special for him to come today," Vanessa Sabo said.
Tux and the players spent about two hours playing hockey and taking pictures with the young patients.
