SCRANTON -- A couple celebrated 70 years of wedded bliss in Scranton.
Family and friends gathered Tuesday for the anniversary of Colonel Zim Lawhon and his wife Patricia.
They were married in California in 1944 just before the colonel went to Europe for WWII.
The Lawhons raised 13 children in Scranton.
"Marry a good woman. Marry her in the church and be prepared for what comes," said Colonel Zim Lawhon.
Both are retired from the University of Scranton.
