EXETER -- It seems the second time was the charm for Aaron Kaufer of Kingston, the 26-year-old Republican vying for the 120th state house seat. That position was left open by longtime Democrat Phyllis Mundy who is retiring.

Mundy had endorsed her former legislative assistant, Eileen Cipriani.

Kaufer ran once before against Mundy and lost two years ago.

That did not appear to be the case Tuesday night.

Kaufer thanked his supporters who chanted and cheered for him at Valenti's restaurant in Exeter.

"It was a whole team effort, we all did our part and no matter what way it was, this was about you, this is about the people. Thank you everybody," Kaufer said.

"He's got a lot of promises to fill and huge shoes to fill," Cipriani said.

Kaufer says there is so much to do from tax to government reform. He plans to get to Harrisburg as soon as possible.
