WILKES-BARRE -- The trial of a former teacher accused of sex with a student got underway Tuesday in Luzerne County.

Prosecutors say Edward Evans sexually assaulted a male student in March of 2013 at his home in Hanover Township.

The alleged victim took the stand Tuesday in court.

Evans was suspended from his job as a social studies teacher at Hanover Area High School.

My science teacher Mr. Pitcavage opened my eyes to my own abilities, he was the best teacher i ever had. Because of his “want” to teach i went from a C- to an A student. A teacher has the power to change a kids life. Thank you Mr. Pit i only wish more teachers were as honorable as you.
Now any teacher with DEVIATE intentions needs to teach fellow prison mates.
    Not schoolmates.
Sad thing is these days one can get “set up” with this kind of charge.
Such a horrible deviate thing to happen in this world.

So sad, The student who accused the teacher, accused him in the past and then said he lied and had to write a letter of apology to the school board. HAAAA!

Was the student allegedly assaulted in his own home or the teacher’s home? Either way, why was one in the other’s home?

This story reminds me of one Newswatch 16 anchor whose husband entertained the boys in the basement several years ago.
