HARRISBURG — A hearing on corruption charges for disgraced former state Senator Bob Mellow took place Monday in Harrisburg.

State investigators believe Mellow, Pennsylvania Turnpike officials, and vendors with state contracts were involved in a pay to play scheme.

Prosecutors said vendors showered Mellow and turnpike executives with cash, gifts, and substantial political contributions, in exchange for lucrative turnpike contracts over a 10-year period.

Mellow is already doing time on federal corruption charges.
