WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP — A junior football league in Luzerne County is trying to raise $15,000 dollars which was allegedly stolen from the organization by its president.

A few players of the Northwest Area Junior Football League were outside Sam’s Club near Wilkes-Barre Sunday, collecting donations.

The money is needed to buy new uniforms for the football players and cheerleaders. Organizers say without the uniforms, there may be no season.

Former league president Mary Kramer of Shickshinny was arrested last week and charged with stealing $15,000 from the organization in Luzerne County.
