WILLIAMSPORT -- The warm weather is encouraging some people to open up their swimming pools for the year and that means this is the busy season for a pool supply store in Williamsport

It was a busy day at Aquarius Pool and Patio in Williamsport.

Customers stopped by the store on Pine Street to pick up pool supplies,   especially things that are on sale.

"We have a big chemical sale that we have every year, so that brings people in.  Patio furniture has been wonderful.  A lot of people are looking forward to times being outside and preparing for summer," said Pam Keefer.

Keefer is a manager at Aquarius Pool and Patio.  She says the recent rise in temperatures means a rise in sales at the store in Williamsport.

"People are getting excited about being outside, I think because we had such a cold winter this year.  We've been opening pools since April 1.  We have around 70 pools open right now."

It's not just busy inside the store with customers buying pool supplies.  Crews from Aquarius are out and about installing and refurbishing pools.

"Right now we're putting up a fence.  We're going to be reworking the bottom of this pool and the smaller pool over there and dropping liners in both of those," said Tim Kurtz of Aquarius Pool and Patio.

Employees at Aquarius Pool and Patio will be installing pools every day this week.

The owners at Nittany Mountain Kampground, near Lewisburg, say they wanted to get the pool ready in time for Memorial Day weekend.  The warm weather has them feeling optimistic about the camping season.

"We're hoping it will bring people out.  We've got some fun this weekend with Cinco de mayo coming up," said Michele Socola.
