WILKES-BARRE -- The weather was just right for folks in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, who came out for the Second Annual Max Fine Memorial 5k race.

Dozens laced up their sneakers for the run/walk that benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The race started at the intersection of West Northampton and River Streets.

It was held in memory of Max Fine of Kingston, who died in 2011. His family told Newswatch 16 Fine battled Muscular Dystrophy.

Organizers say they raised over $6,000 in 2012 and hoped to beat that goal this year.

All the money raised Sunday benefited the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Wilkes-Barre.
