KINGSTON — A gasoline spill in Luzerne County was caused by a failed storage tank, according to a D.E.P. spokesperson.

The agency said they are still trying to determine the extent of the contamination after between 500 and 1,700 gallons of gasoline leaked from a gas station on Wyoming Avenue in Kingston.

Crews have been working to clean up the leak since it was discovered about a week ago.

The D.E.P. says that no decision has been made about possible fines.
