Earlier this week former Wilkes-Barre councilman Jim McCarthy passed away at the age of 77.

The man was also a pioneer in broadcast journalism and served several years as a radio broadcaster for CBS news following the Kennedy administration through the early 1960's.

In 1999 when John F. Kennedy Jr. went missing while on a flight through New England we went to McCarthy's Tavern in Wilkes-Barre to speak with him about his Camelot days.
