DICKSON CITY -- 'Tis the season to be merry and in Dickson City, folks were out in droves Friday, trying to make the season bright with some last minute shopping.
Things were busy at Schiff's seafood stand.
"I'm trying to catch up on everything I'm gonna need for Christmas eve and Christmas day, so I'm running everywhere," said Lorie Dudley of South Caanan Township.
"It's busy, you've got to watch the cars, that you don't get in an accident," agreed Laurie Ruddy of Carbondale.
Things were so hectic, there were people directing traffic in and out of Schiff's parking lot.
"We have a lot of steady customers who appreciate coming. Good prices, good food," said Jim Reese of Peckville, who had been standing in the cold for hours.
At the Viewmont Mall and other shops in Dickson City, people were leaving with boxes and bags.
"Yes, I got good sales," laughed Ann Fedle, who said she waited until the last minute to get good sales.
Some people said things will get even busier in the area as the holiday draws closer.
"Saturday, Sunday and Monday it'll probably be jammed down here again, so that's all we can do," said Reese.
