LUZERNE COUNTY -- A man known for trying to escape the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with killer Hugo Selenski in 2003 has been captured again, this time for other crimes.

Duryea police with help from other agencies arrested Scott Bolton Thursday at a house on McApline Street in Duryea. Stacy Stackhouse of Duryea was also arrested, charged with trespassing and hiding Bolton, a fugitive, from police.

"Wow, that's unbelievable, I'm happy that they finally got them in custody, they are finally ending this,” said Michelle Berti, who lives in the area.

Investigators say in June, Bolton attacked Stackhouse and a man at that same home, pistol-whipping them and threatening to burn the house down with them inside.

When cops arrived, officers found a meth lab at the property and the place was condemned.

Bolton took off and was on the run until Thursday’s capture.

"As we were surrounding the house, Mr. Bolton was trying to get out the second story bathroom window. He was located on the back roof of the kitchen area,” said Duryea Police Chief Nick Lohman.

When trying to escape prison in 2003. Bolton fell and was badly hurt. He ended up in a wheelchair for years.

"The Luzerne County correctional facility is higher up than the second story and seems that he's made a mastery of that,” said Luzerne County’s First Assistant District Attorney Sam Sanguedolce.

Bolton was arrested again the very same day the state Superior Court denied Hugo Selenski's appeal of his double murder conviction.

"Scott Bolton had escaped from the Luzerne County Correctional Facility and ended up what we thought was paralyzed and apparently is ambulatory now so they just caught him on different charges and of course I can't comment on those charges but the irony of this opinion coming down today and Scott Bolton's arrest is perfectly in sync with basically how this entire case has gone,” said Sanguedolce.
