SELINSGROVE -- A man from Snyder County was charged Monday with homicide after investigators say he killed his wife with a hammer.

Kenneth Wochley, 75, had been in the hospital since the homicide inside a home in Selinsgrove on the weekend of April 1.

He was taken from the hospital Monday to the Snyder County prison and locked up on charges including criminal homicide.

Wochley is accused of killing his wife Ann with a claw hammer.

According to court papers, the couple was last seen on April 1 at a neighbor's house.  Earlier that night, they went out to dinner with friends.

Selinsgrove police are still trying to piece together what happened between 9 p.m. that night and the next morning when they were found inside their house by a friend.

Ann Wochley, 75, was found on the floor with her head covered in blood.  A hammer with what appeared to be blood and hair on it was found on a dining room counter.

Kenneth Wochley was unconscious with blood stains covering his face and hands.  A bottle of muscle relaxers next to him was empty.

The Snyder County district attorney says toxicology tests are being done to determine if Kenneth took the pills.

As soon as Kenneth Wochley was released from the hospital, he was arrested and taken to the Snyder County prison.  He faces several charges, including criminal homicide.

Police say after they read Wochley his rights, he refused to answer any questions.

Kenneth Wochley's medical condition is being reviewed at the Snyder County prison.

The district attorney says if his medical needs surpass what the prison can provide, he will be transferred to another facility.

Wochley is due back in court next week.
