SELINSGROVE-- Selinsgrove police believe an elderly man is responsible for killing his wife.

Police say Ann Wochley, 75, died after she was hit over the head and body several times, possibly with an object found inside the home.

Police found her husband, Kenneth Wochley, 75, unconscious inside the home but have not been able to interview him yet because of a medical condition.

Police say the crime happened inside their house on Ninth Street in Selinsgrove. Investigators believe the homicide took place sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning.

The husband and wife were found Saturday morning by a friend who came to visit them. The visitor found Ann on the floor of the living room, and Kenneth unconscious in a chair in the living room.

The couple was well known in Selinsgrove. Ann is a former borough employee and Kenneth a former teacher.

After an autopsy Monday morning, the coroner determined Ann died from several injuries to her head and body. Investigators found a weapon that may have caused these injuries, but need to send it to the state police crime lab for testing.

Selinsgrove police call this an isolated incident and say the public is not in danger. Selinsgrove police say there are no other persons of interest at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
