SCRANTON -- The woman critically injured in a hit and run crash in Scranton has been declared dead.
According to the coroner, Betty Sawkulich, 32, of Scranton died Thursday from her injuries after she was hit last week.
The mother of seven was hit and severely injured crossing South Main Avenue on February 4.
Police arrested Tiffany Timko, of Hazleton, a few days later. Timko faces a list of charges including driving without a license from a previous DUI.
There is no word from authorities on additional charges against Timko, though they said the investigation is far from over. They have seized Timko's vehicle and cell phone.
"We are looking to see what was happening, we have a very specific timeline, the conduct, before, during and after this crash occurred," said Lackawanna County Deputy District Attorney Robert Klein. "To leave someone laying on the pavement in the cold is just unfathomable," he continued.
Sawkulich's family members said Thursday they want justice.
